ACT Story
Rooted in Community
Operating through the Animal Coalition of Tahoe, our Pet Pantry began in South Lake Tahoe to ensure that financial hardship never leads to surrendering a pet.
Over 15 years, we have proudly assisted 2,100 dogs and cats in our local community by providing high-quality wet and dry food to keep families and their companions together.

Our Story
The Pet Pantry Program began with a simple observation: in times of crisis, our animal companions often become the silent victims of financial hardship. We saw local families struggling to balance their own nutritional needs with the rising costs of pet care, leading to the heartbreaking possibility of surrendering beloved pets to shelters.
A Lifeline for Local Pets
Dedicated to keeping paws and people together, our South Lake Tahoe nonprofit established a vital network for pet food distribution. Over the past 15 years, ACT has assisted more than 2,100 dogs and cats in our local community by providing high-quality wet and dry food, ensuring that companion animals receive proper nutrition when families need it most.
Building a Compassionate Future
Today, our mission remains unchanged: to ensure that no pet goes hungry and no owner has to experience the trauma of separation due to poverty. Through local partnerships and the unwavering support of our donors, we continue to bridge the gap between food insecurity and the wellbeing of our community's animal friends.
